RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday said that he will not be in the running to be the next President after Pranab Mukherjee’s term ends this year.

This comes after the Shiv Sena has shown indication that it could support him, if he were to be considered for the post.

Whatever is being discussed in the media will not happen. I work for the Sangh and I have no wish to go there (to the President’s seat). Even if I’m presented with the post, I will not accept it.
Mohan Bhagwat

He also said that once a person joins the RSS, they shut doors on ‘such things’. He also said that claims of him becoming the President are a concoction of the media, which should just remain a joke.
