Republic Day 2019: Here’s How to Get Tickets for the Parade

The tickets are available at Rajpath every year from 7 January to 25 January.

India will be celebrating its 70th Republic day this year and the preparations are in full swing. Delhi metro’s schedule, traffic routes, all have been aligned with the parade that will take place on Saturday, 26 January at India Gate.

Wondering how you can attend the parade and get access to the tickets?

The tickets to the function are available at Rajpath every year from 7 January to 25 January. The counters open daily from 10 am to 12:30 pm and from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. One ticket counter will remain open till 7 pm from 23 to 25 January.

  • Pragati Maidan (Gate 1)
  • Jantar Mantar (Main Gate)
  • Sena Bhawan (Gate 2)
  • Jamnagar House (opposite India Gate)
  • Shastri Bhawan (near Gate 3)
  • North Block Roundabout
  • Parliament House Reception Office

People can book reserved seats at a price of Rs 500 and unreserved seats for Rs 100 and Rs 20.

It is mandatory to carry any government-issued ID card during the purchase of tickets.

The parade starts from Vijay Chowk and passes through Rajpath, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar (BSZ) Marg and the Netajji Subash Marg.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on its Twitter handle that some entry/exit gates at metro stations will remain closed at specific hours on Friday and the day after. Parking facilities also won’t be available from 6 am on Friday till 2 pm, Saturday.

The Patel Chowk and Lok Kalyan Marg metro stations will be closed from 8:45 am to 12 pm on Saturday, and Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan metro stations will remain shut from 6 am to 12 pm on Republic Day.
