A Divided House? BJP Hints It Won’t Declare CM Face In Uttarakhand

On demonetisation, he says the RBI will prepare and submit a report card and that it’s not the PM’s job to do so.

With the Election Commission sounding the bugle for Assembly polls in 5 states, hectic activities have begun. In Uttarakhand, where BJP hopes to return to power, 4 former chief ministers are in the race for the top post.

But while talking to The Quint in a live interaction on Facebook, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who’s also the election in-charge of BJP for the hill state, has hinted that the party won’t announce the CM candidate.

Along with veterans like BC Khanduri, Ramesh Pokhariyal, Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and Vijay Bahuguna, young faces like Anil Baluni are also lobbying the the CM’s post.

Apart from elections in Uttarakhand and local polls in his home state of Odisha, Pradhan spoke about demonetisation and many other national issues. Here are the five key statements he made:
