On Friday, the CBI Court convicted Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Ram Rahim Singh in a rape case and put him in judicial custody. Following the court’s verdict, members of Ram Rahim Singh’s sect went on a frenzied rampage.

We bring to you photographs of the havoc wrecked by members of the sect, which shook the city of Panchkula– and the entire country by extension.

Parts of Delhi came under mob attack as well. A train parked in New Delhi’s Anand Vihar was torched.

More than 15,000 paramilitary troops and police officers were deployed in Panchkula. Some even came on horseback.

Around 30 people are estimated to have been killed in the mob violence.
