Police Arrest Ram Rahim’s CA; ED & IT Teams Arrive in Sirsa Again

One police personnel has been arrested for plotting the Dera chief’s escape from CBI court in Panchkula.

A SIT of the Haryana Police arrested Dera Sacha Sauda’s Chartered Accountant CP Arora on 17 October over alleged involvement in inciting violence in Panchkula, following the conviction of self-proclaimed godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Arora is the CEO of MSG company and is a resident of Sirsa.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Panchkula Police Commissioner AS Chawla said: “Arora has been arrested on charges of participating an 17 August meeting at the dera headquarters in which the conspiracy for inciting violence was hatched. He was also present in the meeting that was chaired by Honeypreet”.

We shall be further probing his role in the violence that erupted after Dera chief was convicted by the CBI court for rape on 25 August.

Meanwhile, Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department teams arrived in Sirsa earlier in the day to probe assets of Dera Sacha Sauda, as directed by the Punjab and Haryana HC.

One police personnel has also been arrested for plotting the Dera chief’s escape from CBI court in Panchkula on 25 September.

A Panchkula court had earlier remanded Honeypreet Insan, who calls herself Ram Rahim’s “adopted daughter”, in judicial custody till 23 October in connection with the violence on 25 August.

After the completion of nine-day police remand, Honeypreet and Sukhdeep Kaur were presented on 13 October, before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Rohit Watts, under tight security arrangements.
