Rakesh Asthana to Take Charge of CBI After Anil Sinha’s Retirement

The government has not yet appointed a full time director.

Additional Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Rakesh Asthana took charge of the probe agency after the incumbent director Anil Sinha completed his term on Friday.

However, Asthana has taken charge only as the interim director. The government hasn’t yet appointed a full time director.

Rakesh Asthana is a Gujarat cadre IPS officer and was serving as the Additional Director of the CBI until now.
