BJP’s Complex GST Turned Small Businesses Into CA Firms: Rahul
“Most difficult job in India is to be an honest politician,” the Congress vice president said.
Addressing a crowd in Rajkot on Tuesday, 26 September, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi criticised the Modi government for its hasty implementation of both GST and demonetisation.
Taking a dig at Narendra Modi, Rahul said that the PM had promised that India would produce the world’s biggest accounting firms, but has converted all small and medium businesses into accounting firms by implementing GST.
Rahul criticised the multiple forms each firm has to fill under the new GST norms, and said his party would pressurise the government to simplify the procedure.
The Congress VP also said it was difficult to be an honest politician in India.
Responding to a question, Rahul said that any politician who tries to bring about this change, is abused because no one wants politics to become an open system.
He further said that demonetisation has failed to clamp down on the big businesses with black money. It has made life difficult for farmers and small businesses instead, he said.
