In what could have been one of the best decisions the RSS took, to cover up the legs of portly, middle-aged men, by wearing full pants, the RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav attributed the decision to his wife Rabri Devi.
He tweeted the exchange with his wife wherein she said, “These men do not know about Indian culture, they should be ashamed. Old men roaming around in half-pants.”
Thus, the monstrosity of the RSS’ half-pant uniforms was laid to rest.
While the organisation may strike the wrong chords with most people, with their tirades against almost everything that portrays Hindus and men to be akin to divinity, it’s a breath of fresh air that a woman asked men to cover up, citing “culture”.
However, the RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat had cited the change in the 90-year-old attire to the “changing times”.
In a series of profound tweets, Lalu also said that they want to reinforce a change in the mindset of the organisation, by making them shun weapons and not spread hatred.
The new uniforms came into place on the organisation’s 91st foundation day which was on Monday.
On the Vijya Dashmi day, the volunteers donned smart dark brown trousers in place of khaki shorts at a ceremony in Nagpur attended by its chief Mohan Bhagwat.
