1 Dead, 3 Injured in a Drunk-Driving Accident on Delhi Flyover

A 38-year-old woman was killed in a drunk driving accident that took place in west Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh Flyover on Friday, 9 November.

The accident happened around 11:30 pm when a car hit the divider, colliding with two other cars and killing Poonam Sardana.

Police sources told The Quint that Poonam was traveling with her 13-year-old daughter and two others when her car was hit by the 22-year-old accused’s car.

According to police, accused Shivani was drunk when she rammed the car into the flyover divider and collided with two other cars.

Poonam’s daughter and the two other people in the car were also injured in the accident.

The 22-year-old accused was driving with two other friends, who fled the spot after the accident while she was held by bystanders.

Shivani, a resident of Ghaziabad, works in a private company and is currently under custody.
