Prez Kovind Shifted to AIIMS, to Undergo Bypass Surgery on 30 Mar
The Army Hospital had on Friday said that the president was undergoing “routine check-up and was under observation”.
President Ram Nath Kovind, who was on Friday, 26 March, taken to the Army Hospital (Research and Referral) after he experienced chest discomfort, is now stable and has been shifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi for further treatment, reported ANI, quoting a statement from the President’s secretariat.
According to the statement, after investigations at AIIMS, Delhi, doctors advised him to undergo a bypass procedure. This is expected to be performed on the morning of 30 March.
The Army Hospital had on Friday said that the president was undergoing “routine check-up and was under observation”, adding that his condition is stable.
The office of President of India on Saturday tweeted a health update on the president’s health condition.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the son of the president, and enquired about his health.
