One of the things kids love doing on Holi can land their parents in jail this time with the police getting stricter towards indiscipline on Holi after two incidents of women being hit by semen-filled balloons in New Delhi.

Police commissioner Amulya Pathak has deployed extra personnel on roads. Cops have also taken the patrolling up a notch in the vicinity of colleges and schools and have deployed PCR vans for quick intervention to make sure that mischief doesn't kill the festive spirit of Holi, the Times of India reported.

Dependra Pathak, special commissioner and Delhi Police chief spokesperson told the Times of India that anyone victimised on Holi should immediately report the harassment. “We have zero-tolerance for hooliganism and will take immediate action on receiving complaints,” he was quoted by the daily as saying.

Section 144 of the CRPC has been imposed to prevent bikers riding with balloons and waterguns. According to the TOI report, action will be taken under Section 188 (disobedience of public order) of IPC against violators. The report further states that officers of joint commissioner rank and above will be patrolling on the day of Holi.

The police has not even spared the children in this matter, as their parents will be booked for the kids' misbehaviour. According to TOI, police teams have met RWA members in Lajpat Nagar, Amar Colony and Greater Kailash and have asked them to pass on the message to the residents. The police will also carry out surprise checks in residential areas as well.

We have detained a few bikers who were carrying projectiles. They will be let off only after counselling.
