Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party lawmakers on Wednesday, 3 July. According to NDTV’s report, the session will include discussion on discipline and behaviour of party workers.

This meetings come amid controversial behaviour raked up by BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya who was jailed for assaulting a municipal corporation official and is currently out on bail.

PM Modi, in an apparent dig at senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargia, who is BJP national general secretary and West Bengal in-charge of the party, and his son Akash, told party MPs on Tuesday, that if anybody brings a bad name to the organisation with their conduct, it is “unacceptable”.

BJP MP from Saran in Bihar, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, told ANI, “The PM in BJP parliamentary party meeting today said action should be taken if someone has done something wrong. He also said that it is applicable to everyone.”

PM Modi reportedly also said, “Kisi ka bhi beta ho, nikaal dena chahiye...” (Whoever’s son he might be, he should be removed).

After being released on bail, BJP MLA received a grand welcome with garlands and sweets outside the party office in Indore. BJP leaders Gopikrishna Nema and Ramesh Mendola were also present.

However after PM Modi’s remarks the BJP office party denied having extended any welcome to Kailash Vijayvargiya’s son.
