He also tweeted about the occasion and hoped that people would imbibe Gandhi’s ideals.

The PM also tweeted about former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri, remembering him as the man who inspired the troops, farmers and gave the country an able leadership.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu also paid tribute to Gandhi at Rajghat on Monday.

The President, Vice President and Prime Minister also paid tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri at Vijay Ghat, on the former PM’s birth anniversary.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Ram Naik also paid tribute to Gandhi in Lucknow.
