Exclusive: Piyush Goyal Says All Indians to Get 24x7 Power by 2022

Piyush Goyal, Minister for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines, in an exclusive conversation with The Quint’s Editorial Director Sanjay Pugalia said that every person in India will have 24-hour electricity by 15 August 2022.

On a Facebook Live chat, Goyal suggested that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Centre has mega “power” plans for Uttar Pradesh, including electricity for each and every house in the state by October next year.

Further, Goyal talked about eliminating corruption from the power sector and taking strict action against corrupt officials.
