Pay Hike For 7.5 Lakh Teachers in Colleges Cleared by Cabinet

The government extended the 7th Pay Commission benefits to teachers of central and state universities on Wednesday, said Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar. This move will benefit at least 7.5 lakh teachers.

We must attract talent into academics. Teachers of all centrally funded deemed universities and 43 central universities will get benefit of the 7th Pay Commission.

Javadekar said assistant and associate professors of 329 state universities and 12,912 colleges will benefit with pay higher salaries effective 1 January 2016.
