Pakistan is unlikely to allow a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) to visit the country and continue the probe in Pathankot terror attack.

A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) from Pakistan visited the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot where a terrorist attack took place on 2 January 2016. According to CNN-IBN report, Pakistan has stated that India must not expect any sort of reciprocity even though the JIT was allowed access to the airbase as well as the witness.

However, NIA sources denied the report.

We haven’t received any communication from JIT nor do we expect from them so soon. If at all any written reply is sent by Pakistan, our Ministry of External Affairs will make a statement in consultation with NIA. Some elements in Pakistan are trying to undermine the relationship we have built with Pakistan so far.

According to Pakistan media, JIT had, on Saturday, claimed that Indian authorities have “failed” to provide concrete evidence to prove that Pakistan-based terrorists had carried out the attack on the base. The JIT also pointed out that they were taken to the attack site for only 45 minutes which is a very limited time to conduct any type of investigation.

The JIT visited India for 5-days during which all the evidence related to attack including the DNA of four terrorists, their identity, call records etc were shared with them.
