Govt Should Stop Steep Fee Hikes in Private Schools, Say Parents

The last few weeks have witnessed an organised attempt by parents to raise their voice against what they deem “illegal” and “arbitrary” fee hikes by private schools across the country.

In Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), the movement was taken to the next level when a protest march was organised at Jantar Mantar last week. Scores of parents gathered to demand an immediate rollback. The fee hikes in schools have ranged between 11 and 20 percent, according to a survey.

We spoke to two parents, who are also part of the All India Parents Forum for Education, and here’s what they had to say:
