Encounter in J&K’s Shopian: 2 Militants Killed, Teenager Dead

On Wednesday, 24 January, a 17-year-old boy was killed during clashes between protesters and security forces In the Chaigund area of Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, reported PTI.

Two militants too have been neutralised.

Shakir Ahmad Mir, a resident of Qalampora in Shopian, and several others sustained injuries when police fired pellet guns and tear gas shells to disperse protesters at Chaigund, the site of the encounter, the officials said. Mir was rushed to a hospital in Rapora where doctors declAred him brough dead, reported PTI.

According to a tweet by DGP Jammu and Kashmir, SP Vaid, two militants have been neutralised and weapons have been recovered. In his tweet, he also confirmed that one boy had been killed and two ladies sustained injuries.
