The government has taken the common man off guard yet again by announcing changes in the usage of old Rs 500 notes.

The RBI announced on Thursday that the old notes of Rs 500 would be accepted at petrol pumps and airports till just 2 December, as opposed to 15 December announced earlier.

This announcement comes just a day after the chaos that ensued on payday, when people were seen struggling to get their hands on their money.
