Ola Served Notice by Karnataka Transport Dept for Over-Charging
Karnataka transport department issues a notice to Ola for over-charging its commuters.

The transport department under Karnataka on-Demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rules has served the cab company Ola a notice. The show-cause notice to the cab company has been issued for over-charging its commuters, reports Bangalore Mirror.
It has not been a month since Ola got its license in Bangalore. The company has a week’s time to reply to the notice issued on 4 July. The department also warned that it will either suspend or cancel the awarded license should the aggregator fail to reply to the notice.
Over-charging is not the only reason why the department has taken a strong objection to the shuttle services provided by Ola. The notice states that operation of 12+1 passenger vehicles by anyone but the department is illegal.
An official of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) spoke to to Bangalore Mirror and said, “Shuttle services by private players is illegal and they operate only on routes profitable to them unlike the BMTC. In the past, the transport department had seized vehicles offering shuttle services.”
