A Noida-based YouTuber allegedly raped and blackmailed a woman, demanding Rs 2 lakh, after he allegedly used an MMS that he had made of her after spiking her drink, according to the police.

Her parents approached the police to file a complaint on Tuesday.

The woman said that she had known the accused for one and a half years and would occasionally like some of the videos on his YouTube channel, which has more than two lakh subscribers. They became friends, and when her husband found out about their relationship, he sent her to her parents’ home, she said, according to the police.

“He told me I could get famous after acting in these videos. When I went to the guest house on March 6, he told me he would give me work. But he offered me a spiked drink.”
The woman told TOI.

He allegedly raped her afterwards and took an objectionable video which he used to blackmail her.

The police said that an FIR had been filed against the accused and further investigation was underway.
