NIA Links Hyderabad ISIS Module to Paris, Brussels Attacks
The suspects in Hyderabad were carrying an explosive called TATP, which was found in the Brussels and Paris attacks.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has claimed that the explosives found at the busted ISIS module in Hyderabad are similar to the ones used in the Brussels and Paris attack, reports The Times of India.
According to the report, the authorities found an explosive called triacetone triperoxide (TATP) in the basement of the house the NIA raided on Wednesday. The same lethal explosive was used by bombers in the Paris and Brussels attacks.
On Wednesday, NIA arrested five and detained six, including a techie in Hyderabad. The five arrested people were sent to judicial custody till 14 July by the special NIA court.
The arrests were believed to have foiled the efforts of a potential terrorist module with links to the Islamic State.
The police said that the suspects had planned to use the explosives to attack multiple locations, including police stations, government buildings, and crowded areas.
