A 19-year-old NEET aspirant from Delhi allegedly committed suicide on Monday, 4 June, after failing to pass the examination. The student reportedly jumped off the eighth floor of a building in Dwarka, Sector 12, hours after the results of the examination were announced, reported ANI.

The boy, who has been identified as Parnav Mehandirata, had been appearing for the examination for the last two years since finishing school in 2016. His body was allegedly found lying in a pool of blood under the balcony of his building, PTI reported.

The police allegedly found a suicide note in the boy’s room, which mentions that he had lied about the results of the exam to his parents, ANI reported.

The police told PTI that they had received information about the alleged suicide at Sunny Valley CGHS Society, around 5.15 pm on Monday.

An inquest is being undertaken to ascertain the cause of death, although no foul play was suspected, reported PTI.
