Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday headed back home after a brief visit to Mexico on the final leg of his five-nation tour.

The tour, which began on 4 June, saw Modi visiting Afghanistan, Qatar, Switzerland, the US and Mexico with an aim to bolster ties.

While in the US, Modi addressed a joint sitting of the US Congress and also received President Obama’s backing for India’s NSG membership bid. Two other key members of the group – Switzerland and Mexico – also expressed their support for India’s entry into the 48-nation bloc.
