Former NCP MLA Narendra Patil, Sena’s Haji Shaikh among those taking the bait.

The BJP, it seems, is on a poaching spree, ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha and state assembly elections. The party is now wooing leaders form rival parties, including the Shiv Sena, by offering leaders key posts in state- run corporations and bodies. With just one year to go before the polls, politicians are switching over to the BJP for enjoying the perks of these plum postings.

Former NCP legislator Narendra Patil was the latest to jump ship. Patil resigned from the NCP and is likely to join the BJP after he was nominated to head the Annasaheb Patil Financial Development Corporation.
