In a video that has gone viral, workers affiliated with the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) party reportedly bashed up an accused ‘pervert’, in a press conference held in Thane on Monday, 8 October.

The MNS workers made a public display of delivering “vigilante justice”, as a “warning” to migrant workers in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, News18 reported.

The report further mentioned that the man in the video is a 53-year-old alleged paedophile, who has been charged with sexually assaulting a two-year-old girl.

Although the Mumbai police was present at the spot, they did not make any move to stop the MNS workers from beating up the accused.
