CM Yogi Adityanath Assured Legal Slaughterhouses Won’t Be Shutdown

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured meat traders that strict action will be taken against those who forcefully shutdown slaughterhouses.

He told a delegation of meat traders who met him at 6 pm on Thursday that licensed slaughterhouses will not be shutdown.

Our meeting with UP CM was very successful. He assured us that licensed slaughterhouses will not be troubled. I appeal to the protesters to return to work and start working with a proper licence, UP Govt will help you procure one.

UP Minister SN Singh told the media:

All delegates (meat traders) supported CM and said as citizens of India, it’s our duty to see that nothing illegal is allowed.

The Yogi Adityanath government has ordered closure of illegal slaughterhouses and imposed a ban on cow smuggling, both of which were key electoral promises.

To protest the crackdown on illegal and mechanised slaughterhouses in Uttar Pradesh, meat sellers went on an indefinite strike.
