On Monday, Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh was laid to rest with full state honours. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, chiefs of the air force, army and navy, and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh were among the leaders who paid homage to the decorated officer.

Flags are flying at half mast in Delhi to mourn the Air Chief’s death.

17 Gun Salute for IAF Marshal

People gathered at Delhi’s Brar Square for the funeral of Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh. There will be a 17 gun salute in his honour.

The chiefs of the air force, navy and army have gathered at Brar Square to pay homage.

Mortal Remains Taken to Brar Square

The mortal remains of Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh are being taken in a carriage to Brar Square, for a funeral with full state honours.

Gun Salute, Fly Past Scheduled

The tricolour will fly at half mast at all government buildings in the national capital on Monday in the honour of the military legend.

The IAF patriarch will be given a state funeral at 9.30 am at Brar Square.

The cortege left on a gun carriage from Arjan Singh's 7-A Kautilya Marg residence at 8.30 am. A gun salute will be given, and if weather permits, a fly past will also take place, the defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said on Sunday.

Arjan Singh's family has also planned a ritual for the funeral.

Last Rites to Be Performed

Last rites of Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh, who passed away following a cardiac arrest, will be performed on 18 September at Delhi's Brar Square.

Preparations for the ceremony are underway at his residence, 7A, Kautilya Marg.

Indian Air Force Marshal Arjan Singh, famous for his role in the the 1965 India-Pakistan war, passed away on 16 September after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was hospitalised in the Army R&R Hospital in critical condition on 16 September morning. He was 98.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and IAF Chief BS Dhanoa had visited him while he was admitted in the hospital.

Keelor relived the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war, talking about how Singh’s decisiveness saved the day, referring to when he decided to lead the air attack on Pakistan's forward forces, effectively changing the course of the war.

Leaders Pay Respect to IAF Marshal Arjan Singh

On Sunday, President Ram Nath Kovind led the nation in paying final tributes to Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh, hero of 1965 India-Pakistan war and the only Air Force officer to be promoted to five-star rank.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid his respects to Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh.
