Time to Put an End to VIP Culture: PM Modi in ‘Mann Ki Baat’

In his monthly address to the nation ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched on issues of climate change, youth and co-operation with neighbouring states.

PM Modi took time in his address to talk to the youth of the nation, advising them on the productive ways they could spend their summer holidays. He advised them to engage in new experiences, in new fields in order to challenge themselves and accelerate the nation’s development.

Must Eliminate the Mindset of VIP Culture

PM Modi emphasised that the decision to remove the red beacons from vehicles must equally be met with an effort to remove the mindset of VIP culture from the minds of the Indian public.

In doing so, PM Modi coined the phrase ‘Every Person is Important’ or ‘EPI’, which he hopes will conceptually replace the existing paradigm of the VIP. In doing so, he underlined that 125 crore individuals had equal value and importance.

The Youth Should Step out of Their Comfort Zone

Addressing the youth on Sunday, PM Modi urged them to step out of their comfort zone and try something new during their summer vacations.

Buy a general coach ticket and board any train, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his radio address 'Mann Ki Baat' asked the youth of the nation.

The Prime Minister suggested that the young population of the country aim for new experiences, new places and new skills.

Many people like to live in their comfort zone. Examinations are over and I would urge young people to step out of their comfort zone... try something new this vacation

He also advised them to take whatever they might’ve learned in summer camps and workshops, and impart that knowledge for free to those who couldn’t afford it.

Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Not Only Limited to Nation

While addressing his statement of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’, PM Modi encouraged corporations between India’s neighbouring nations. On Sunday, Modi said that the 'South Asia Satellite' to be launched by India on 5 May, will go a long way in addressing the region's economic and developmental priorities.

The capacities of this satellite and the facilities it provides will go a long way in addressing South Asia’s economic and developmental priorities

The communication satellite GSAT-9 will be launched using Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) heavy rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-F09).

‘Nature is Changing its Rules’

Modi said that climate change is not a subject confined only to the academia and people are facing its ill effects on a daily basis.

Encouraging people to sensitise their children through bird feeders, Modi also pointed out a community's effort in Gujarat towards sparrow conservation.
