BJP’s National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, in an interview with The Times of India, has said that the Mamata Banerjee-led government in West Bengal will fall ‘way ahead of the Assembly elections’ in the state, to be held in two years.

Vijayvargiya, when asked about the West Bengal CM’s recent confrontation with people chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram,’ said that Mamata reacts to those words as if someone has put hot oil in her ears.

“How can a religious mantra of millions be an abuse?” he was quoted by the daily as saying.

He said that Mamata has started taking ‘inch-by-inch revenge’ against the BJP supporters she had threatened.

On the West Bengal chief minister claiming that the chanters were ‘outsiders’ coming to disrupt peace, Vijayvargiya said that the TMC government is itself housing 1.5 crore outsiders, that is, the Rohingya refugees.

“Over 1.5 crore illegal migrants from Bangladesh have settled in the state and have been given citizenship and ration cards, robbing the actual inhabitants of their rights.”

On maintaining the momentum of the recent Lok Sabha results till the Assembly polls, he said that the Mamata government will not complete its full term.

“It will fall way ahead of the Assembly polls as a large number of TMC legislators are ready to rebel and quit,” he said.

He also said that many TMC leaders were upset over Mamata’s nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, being projected as her successor.

Citing law and order to be the biggest problem in West Bengal, the BJP general secretary added that development in the state is also lagging behind.
