Due to Cyclone Nisarga that hit Maharashtra and Gujarat on Wednesday, 3 June, a 58-year-old man died after an electric pole fell on him in the Alibag area of Raigad. In another incident, a 65-year-old woman died and five of her family members were injured in an incident of wall collapse in Pune district.

A day after the tragedy, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) began the restoration work. 20 teams have been deployed across Maharashtra, 7 teams each in Raigad and Mumbai, according to Satya Pradhan, Director General of NDRF.
