Motorbike Daredevils and Hercules Aircraft

The motorbike daredevils swept past as 10s of them balanced themselves on bikes to make impressive formations.

Kolkata as well had a display of motorbike daredevil stunts on the occasion of Republic Day.

In Delhi, the air display followed by bike stunts left the patriots in the audience with a sense of pride.

Ministries’ Tableaux Begin

The tableaux display of Ministries has begun as a part of the Republic Day parade. The new programmes of Swacha Bharat and Digital India made their way on the tableaux.

State Tableaux Begin

The tableaux display began with Goa followed by Gujarat, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Manipur, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam.

French Forces Walk Down Rajpath

The 35th Infantry Regiment of 7th Armoured Brigade of France marched past President Parnab Mukherjee, President Francois Hollande and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi – first time ever.

PM Modi Salutes the Martyrs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his respect to the martyrs by saluting the Amar Jawan Jyoti this morning.

Attendance at the India Gate

The Rajpath running along the India Gate, is bustling and awaiting the arrival of President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the chief guest French President Francois Hollande.

On their arrival, they unfurl the national flag and the first citizen of the country pays respect to the tricolour on behalf of the entire nation.

The Google Doodle for the day is dedicated to the 67th Republic Day of India. As the President of India Pranab Mukherjee’s arrival is awaited, the country virtually woke up to this.

President and Prime Minister Wish the Country

The President of India Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the nation as it enters its 67th year as republic.

This Republic day – 26 January 2016 – marks the completion of 66 years since the formation of the Republic of India. The annual Republic day parade is scheduled to start at 8 am and promises to be as glorious as every year.

This year, the parade will have three unique additions to it:

  • The 35th Infantry Regiment of 7th Armoured Brigade of France will be marching alongside the Indian security forces.
  • The on-bike stunts display will have an all-women contingent performance.

These things will make a comeback:

  • A French President will be the chief guest at the event. President Francois Hollande will be the fifth French President to grace the ocassion.
  • The Indian Army dogs will march down the Rajpath along with the soldiers. According to a report by The Indian Express, the dogs will be a part of the parade after 26 years.
