Trump, Kim Jong Un Bilateral Talks Underway in Singapore

US President Donald Trump described his historic one-on-one meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as 'very very good', as the two leaders met for a summit over the future of Pyongyang’s nuclear arsenal at Singapore's Sentosa island on Tuesday, 12 June.

The two leaders shared a handshake, following which they held a 40-minute meeting with a pair of interpreters.

US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un then went into a second meeting joined by key aides.

Rahul Gandhi Arrives in Mumbai

Congress President Rahul Gandhi arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday, 12 June. He will reportedly appear before a magistrate court in Bhiwandi, Thane in connection with a defamation case filed by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

No Concrete Evidence Against Raj Kundra: Investigating Officer

Manisha Zende, Investigating Officer in the crypto currency case involving businessman Raj Kundra, said that there was no concrete evidence against him in the case. The case is separately investigated by Enforcement Directorate as well, the officer added.

Case Against BJP MLA Raja Singh

A case was registered against BJP MLA Raja Singh at Falaknuma Police Station, Hyderabad, for hurting religious sentiments. Raja had on Monday, 11 June, said that only those "begging for vote" host Iftar parties. The legislator further said that he would neither host nor attend such events.

Two Policemen Killed in Pulwama, 10 Injured in Anantnag

Two policemen were killed, and three others received injuries after terrorists opened fire on a police post at Pulwama's court complex in the wee hours of Tuesday. The area was cordoned off after the attack.

SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Chowdhary said that the attack occurred at around 3 in the morning. "Two of our officers lost their lives, and one is critically injured. Terrorists have been identified, and they will be caught soon," he said.

In another attack, in the Anantnag district, 10 CRPF personnel sustained injuries when the terrorists hurled a grenade at their post on Tuesday morning. The police said that the soldiers faced minor injuries.

Rajasthan School Students to Hear Sermons

The Rajasthan Education Department has issued a list of extra-curricular activities for schools in the state, enlisting that the students will be hearing sermons from saints on every third Saturday of the month.

BJP Workers Arrange Havan for Former PM Vajpayee

BJP workers on Tuesday, 12 June, arranged a 'havan' in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is currently undergoing treatment for urinary tract infection at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

Rahul Gandhi Reaches Bhiwandi Court

Congress President Rahul Gandhi has reached the magistrate court in Bhiwandi, Thane. The Gandhi scion is appearing in a defamation case filed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) after the former had alleged that the latter was behind the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.

"The RSS people had killed (Mahatma) Gandhi," the Congress president had allegedly said in the rally.

Charges Framed Against Rahul Gandhi

Charges have been framed against Congress President Rahul Gandhi under section 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the criminal defamation case filed by RSS' Rajesh Kunte. Rahul, though, pleaded ‘not guilty’. The Gandhi scion had, in an election rally in 2014, alleged that the RSS was behind Mahatam Gandhi’s assassination.

Court Sets August 10 as Next Date of Hearing

The Bhiwandi Court on Tuesday, June 12, set August 10, 2018, as the next date of hearing for the criminal defamation case, filed by RSS, against Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Charges were, earlier, framed against the Gandhi scion under section 499 and 500 of the IPC.

'Special Treatment' to Rahul Gandhi

Rajesh Kunte, the RSS worker, who had filed the defamation case against Congress President Rahul Gandhi told ANI that special treatment was extended to the Gandhi scion. Kunte further alleged that he was the complainant yet he wasn't allowed without being frisked. Rahul, he said, along with his people, entered the court without ant hassle.

Spiritual Leader Bhayyuji Maharaj Shoots Himself Dead

Spiritual leader Bhayyuji Maharaj, who retired from public life in 2016, allegedly shot himself dead on Tuesday, 12 June. He was immediately rushed to the Bombay hospital in Indore, where he was declared dead. The Congress has demanded a CBI probe.

The police said that a suicide note, which allegedly mentions tension, along with a pistol have been seized and that all aspects of the case are being investigated. The Inspector General of Police, Makrand Deoskar, added that family members would also be questioned.

The Special Investigation Team probing Gauri Lankesh’s murder has arrested 26-year-old Parashuram Wagmare, who is suspected to be the shooter, media reports said. He was arrested based on CCTV footage, local media reported. He was produced before the 3rd ACMM Court & has been taken into 14 days police custody for further interrogation.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday, 12 June, seized 11 plots of land in Patna worth Rs 44.75 crore, attached by the agency in the name of a firm linked to RJD chief Lalu Prasad's family, as part of the IRCTC hotel money laundering case.

The central probe agency was allowed to take possession of the seized assets by a designated PMLA authority recently.

All five accused in the St Paul’s Cathedral Mission College student ragging case in West Bengal have been arrested.

In the incident that took place on 17 May, a video clip showed the student pleading for mercy at St Paul's Cathedral College even as his clothes were forcibly removed in front of a group of people. The video went viral on social media.
