Two people died and several were injured in an explosion in an ordinance depot in Maharashtra’s Wardha. More details are awaited.

4 Terrorists Gunned down in an Encounter in Shopian

Four terrorists have been gunned down by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, reported ANI.

An encounter broke out on Tuesday morning between militants and security forces, police said.

Based on specific information about the presence of militants in Nadigam area of Shopian, security forces launched a cordon and search operation, a police official said.

He said the search operation turned into an encounter after the militants fired on the forces, who retaliated.

Malaria Cases Drop 24% In India, Odisha Best Performer: WHO

India has been identified as the top country marking maximum progress in reducing malaria cases among the 11 highest burden countries, registering a 24 per cent decrease in 2017 compared to 2016, according to a World Health Organisation (WHO) report.

As per the WHO World Malaria Report 2018, India is the only high-burden country moving in a positive direction, with Odisha emerging as the best performing state in its fight against Malaria.

The report suggests that malaria cases declined from 3,23,800 in 2017 (January-September) to 55,365 in 2018 for the same duration, along with a drop in deaths to single digits in Odisha.

Centre Approves Rs 546 Cr Flood Relief for K’taka

The Centre on Monday approved Rs 546.21 crore additional assistance to Karnataka which has experienced floods and landslides during 2018, a Home Ministry statement said.

The decision was taken in a High Level Committee (HLC) meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

"The HLC approved the additional assistance from National Disaster Response Fund," said the statement.

Six Die As Tanker Hits Stationary Bus

Six persons were killed in Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh on Monday when a speeding tanker rammed into a stationary roadways bus parked on the roadside after it broke down, police said.

Ten persons were injured in the accident near Muni village, of whom four were in critical condition.

The police said the driver of the tanker apparently could not see the bus due to haze.

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIDMK) protesters who were convicted in Dharmapuri college bus burning case were set free on Monday.

During the incident, three girls of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University were burnt alive when their bus was set afire by AIADMK protester after former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa was convicted in a corruption case in 2000.

SC Adjourns Hearing on Zakia Jafri’s Plea Till 26 Nov

India Among Top 4 Countries Targeted For Phishing Attacks

India is among the top four nations targeted by phishing attacks, a new report said on Monday, adding that the country is also among the top hosting countries for such online frauds, second only to the US.

The other three countries most targeted by phishing are Canada, the US and the Netherlands, showed research from RSA Security, a Dell Technologies business that offers business-driven security solutions.

Phishing is the fraudulent attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details via email.
