A bus belonging to IndiGo Airlines on Thursday caught fire at Chennai Airport with fifty people onboard.

There were no reports of injuries and the fire was put out immediately by Fire and Rescue Services personnel.

A complaint has been registered against Jet Airways staff and crew members of the Mumbai-Jaipur flight No 9W 0697, amounting to “attempt of murder” of travellers on board.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday, 21 September, denied reports of resignations by policemen in the aftermath of the abduction and killing of three policemen in Shopian district.

A police statement said that the videos uploaded on the social media showing special police officers (SPOs) claiming to have quit were “motivated”, IANS reported.

"There have been no resignations by policemen after the killings of three SPOs by the terrorists," it said.

Reliance Shuts Down It’s Only Oil Field in the KG-D6 block

Reliance Industries Friday said it has permanently shut down its only oil field in the flagging KG-D6 block after production declined to nil.

Reliance Industries (RIL) had till date made 19 oil and gas discoveries in the Krishna Godavari basin. Of these, D26 or MA -- the only oil discovery in the block -- was the first field to began production in September 2008. Dhirubhai-1 and 3 (D1 and D3) fields went onstream in April 2009.

6 Die of Electrocution as High Tension Wire Falls into Pond in Assam's Nagaon

Six persons, including a 10-year- old boy, were electrocuted to death while eight others were seriously injured when a high tension 11000-volt wire fell into a pond here in Assam's Nagaon district on Friday, police said.

The tragedy occurred when people were fishing at Uttar Khatooal village, under Rupohi revenue circle, the police said.

Villagers noticed the high-voltage power distribution wire hanging lose over the pond belonging to one Syeb Ali around 5 am and informed the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), the police said.
