22 Killed in Bolivia Road Accident

A head-on collision between two buses on the Oruro-Potosi highway in Bolivia has left at least 22 people dead and more than 30 others injured.

The accident occurred on 19 January, on the highway around 40 km from the city of Challapata. The injured have been taken to hospitals in Challapata and Oruro city. The incident is under investigation.

Five Drug Peddlers Held with Contraband Substance in J&K

Five drug peddlers were arrested Sunday along with contraband substance in separate operations in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Mohan Lal, a resident of Bhartund Chaka, was arrested and 50 g of charas was recovered from his possession during frisking at Ban Ganga in Reasi district, a police spokesperson said.  He said the arrested person is a "notorious drug dealer" and had come to Katra town for drug deal.

Navy Abandons Efforts to Pull out Decomposed Body of Miner

The Indian Navy abandoned all efforts on Sunday to pull out the decomposed body of a miner that it spotted four days ago inside a coal mine in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills District, officials said.

The Navy divers had spotted the decomposed body of a trapped miner on Wednesday, using an unmanned, remotely-operated vehicle (ROV) at a depth of around 160 feet inside the mine's main shaft.
