Delhi Court Extends Lalu’s Interim Bail Till 28 Jan

A Delhi court extended the interim bail granted to RJD chief Lalu Prasad in two Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) scam cases filed by the CBI and the ED till 28 January, PTI reported.

The court reserved the order on the regular bail plea of the former Bihar CM, ANI reported.

Special Judge Arun Bhardwaj also extended the interim bail granted to Prasad's wife Rabri Devi and son Tejashwi Yadav in the CBI case till 28 January, the PTI report added.

On the said date, the court will pronounce order on the regular bail application of Lalu Prasad and others.

A Delhi lower court has questioned the Delhi Police over filing of charge sheet in 2016 JNU sedition case without procuring requisite sanctions, PTI reported.

"You don't have approval from the legal department. Why did you file the charge sheet without approval?" a Delhi court asked the police.

The Delhi Police said they will get sanction approval in 10 days, the report added.
