Two Thrashed on Child-Lifting Suspicion in Rajasthan; Five Held
Two youth were thrashed by mob on suspicion of child-lifting in Dholi village under Asind police station in Rajasthan, on Tuesday, 8 October.
Police said on Wednesday,"Both men are undergoing treatment at a hospital. Five people have been arrested, further investigation is underway."

A woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men at her house in Gaya in Bihar on Monday, 7 October.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Gaya, Rajiv Mishra on Wednesday said,"Two of the three accused have been arrested, efforts are on to nab the third one. Further investigation is underway."

Two "high-value" jihadists held by Syrian Kurds have been taken into US custody and moved out of the country, a defense official said Wednesday, as reports identified them as notorious British fighters dubbed "The Beatles."
Turkey has launched an assault on the Syrian Kurdish forces -- with which the US partnered to combat the Islamic State group -- sparking fears that the offensive could lead to captured fighters they held escaping and reconstituting the group.

China Facing Hard Time; Wants Trade Deal, Says Trump
China is facing their hardest time in decades in maintaining the economy and badly wants to have a trade deal with the US, President Donald Trump has said, ahead of the next round of trade negotiations between the two giant economies.
“China is having a hard time at this moment. And I think they'd like to make a deal very badly. And so we have a lot of things that are really exciting,” Trump told reporters at the White House.
The US and China will hold the next round of trade negotiations on October 10, as the two major trading powers are trying to end their bruising trade war.

1 Killed, 11 Injured as Truck Falls Into River in Bengal
One woman died and 11 others were injured on Thursday after a truck carrying them crashed through the railing of a bridge and plunged into the Neora river in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district, police said.
The incident took place at about 6 am in Malbazar subdivision when the people were going to a weekly market at Mangalbari in Chalsa, they said.
Injured persons were recued by personnel of the Fire Brigade and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and rushed to the Malbazar super speciality hospital, police said.

Pakistan on Thursday, 10 October, said no date has been fixed so far for the inauguration of the much-awaited Kartarpur corridor, even as it assured that it will be open "on time" on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Sikh faith founder Guru Nanak Dev next month.

Journalist Killed in UP's Kushinagar; 1 Arrested
A 55-year-old journalist was killed by two assailants who slit his throat near Dubouli village in neighbouring Kushinagar district on Thursday morning, the police said.
The victim, Radheyshyam Sharma, was associated with a local Hindi newspaper, they said.
Sharma, a resident of Siktiya Bantolwa village in Kushinagar, also taught at a private school nearby and was on his way there on a motorcycle when the assailants stopped him and slit his throat, the police said.

The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday sealed an approximately five-acre bungalow of a HDIL promoter near Mumbai in connection with its money laundering probe in the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) bank case, officials said.
They said the property is in Vasai suburb under Palghar district of Maharashtra.

Four persons closely associated with Hafiz Saeed have been arrested by Counter Terrorism Department of Government of Punjab in Pakistan. Arrested persons are Zafar Iqbal, Hafiz Yahya Aziz, Muhammad Ashraf and Abdul Salam.
