India Reports 28,903 New COVID-19 Cases
India reported 28,903 new COVID-19 cases, 17,741 recoveries and 188 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry. The total cases have now risen to 1,14,38,734, total recoveries stand at 1,10,45,284 , active cases at 2,34,406 and the death toll has risen to 1,59,044.
The total number of people having received the first dose of the vaccine reaches 3,50,64,536.
Rajya Sabha Passed Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill
The Rajya Sabha passed the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2021, that enhances upper gestation limit from 20 to 24 weeks for special categories of women that will be defined in amendments and would include survivors of rape, victims of incest and other vulnerable women.

23,179 New COVID Cases in Maharashtra, 536 in Delhi
Maharashtra on Wednesday reported 23,179 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally in the state to 23,70,507. The death toll increased by 84 to 53,080.
Meanwhile, 536 new cases were recorded in Delhi, with the death toll rising by three to 10,948.
