Petrol, Diesel Prices Continue Downward Trend

Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi on Monday, 29 October, are Rs 79.75 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.30) and Rs 73.85 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.20), respectively.

Whereas the price of petrol stands at Rs 85.24 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.30) in Mumbai while diesel is at Rs 77.40 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.21).

Lion Air Flight From Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang Goes Missing

Lion Air flight from Jakarta to the Indonesian city of Pangkal Pinang goes missing 13 minutes after take-off, ANI reported quoting Singapore’s Strait Times.

The Indonesian authorities have mounted a search and rescue operation for the plane that lost contact with air traffic controllers at 6.33 am on Monday.

Businessman Accused of Sexually Assaulting French Girl, Evades Arrest

A 56-year-old Delhi businessman is evading arrest after being accused of sexually assaulting a teenage French girl staying in his house as part of a student exchange programme, police said on Monday.

Devesh Srivastava, Joint Commissioner of Police (Southern range), said the accused has been absconding since the complaint was filed on October 23 at the Neb Sarai police station in south Delhi.

He said the alleged incident happened on October 18 at the businessman's residence in Neb Sarai.

SC Prohibits Plying of 15-Year Old Petrol, 10-Year Old Diesel Vehicles

The Supreme Court on Monday prohibited the plying of 15-yr-old petrol and 10-yr-old diesel vehicles in the national capital region and directed the transport department to announce that such vehicles will be impounded if found plying.

The apex court, which described as "very critical" the prevailing situation of pollution in the Delhi-NCR region, said that the list of 15 yr old petrol and 10 year old vehicles be given on the website of Central Pollution Control Board and transport department of NCR.

Earlier, the National Green Tribunal had also banned 15-yr-old petrol and 10-yr-old diesel vehicles in Delhi-NCR.
