Grand Alliance Will Ensure BJP’s Defeat: Jignesh Mevani in Kolkata

The Dalit leader said the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ will ensure the upholding of the Constitution.

Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani at Opposition’s United India rally on Saturday, 19 January, in Kolkata, claimed that the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ (Grand Alliance) will ensure the defeat of the RSS and the BJP.

‘Message for Change in Upcoming LS Elections’

Mevani said the coming together of so many Opposition leaders at the TMC’s Opposition rally gives a message for change in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“The country is going through an unprecedented crisis with the exploitation of the poor, minorities and dalits in the four-and-half-year rule of the BJP.”

Aiming for India to become a ‘true socialist republic’, Mevani expressed hope that when the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ comes to power at the Centre, it will ensure the upholding of the Constitution.

Leaders of all the Opposition parties, except the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the CPI(M)-led Left Front, are taking part in the rally.
