While protests over the death of George Floyd have raged across the United States, many episodes of police brutality have emerged from the country. Several have drawn parallels with similar instances arising during the anti-CAA protests, Delhi riots and the migrant crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I can’t breathe...”- One of the few last words of George Floyd, the African-American killed by a police officer in the US - has become relevant for the various forms of oppression that several face in India.
