Jyotiraditya Scindia is the latest to join the list of members resigning from their posts in the Congress following the Lok Sabha defeat. Scindia, on 7 July, tweeted saying he has resigned as the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee.

“Accepting the people’s verdict and taking accountability, I had submitted my resignation as General Secretary of AICC to Rahul Gandhi. I thank him for entrusting me with this responsibility and for giving me the opportunity to serve our party,” he tweeted.

He told ANI that he had submitted his resignation to Rahul Gandhi 8-10 days ago.

Earlier in the day, Mumbai Congress Chief Milind Deora, too, had resigned from his post. Deora said he was looking forward to play a ‘role at the national level’ to help stabilise the party.
