50 Rupees. Yes, that’s the penalty for being cruel to animals in India – less than even a dollar.

Is that an effective deterrent? You can answer that question for yourself.

But this pittance of a penalty isn’t the only reason we are failing our animals. It’s that somewhere along the evolution process some of us got lost and became beasts instead.

Now we may not be a dog person, and that’s okay. But that doesn’t give us the license to be a beast to them, right?
