The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the ticketing arm of the Indian Railways, provides passengers with an option to change their Boarding station online. Users who book e-tickets can change their Boarding station online, but not within 24 hours of the scheduled departure of the train.

Passengers found travelling without any proper authority are required to pay fare with penalty between original boarding point and changed boarding point, as per the details available on the IRCTC website.

• Boarding point change is not allowed for current booking ticket.
