Hundreds of people in India have lost their lives due to consumption of illicit liquor. At least 165 people died after allegedly consuming illicit liquor in Assam’s Golaghat and Jorhat districts in February 2019.

The incident came to light days after at least 99 people died in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand due to the consumption of illicit liquor.

Illicit liquor problem in India have claimed hundreds of lives.
