Google, Oracle Offering Crore-Plus Salaries at IIT Placements
Microsoft is offering more than Oracle with its basic salary starting from $106,000 (Rs 72.5 lakh).
The final placements at the IITs will start on 1 December and a fraction of students from the reputed engineering colleges are about to get their first crore-plus salaries.
Microsoft and Oracle are said to be offering packages higher than what was offered last year. Microsoft is offering more than Oracle with its basic salary starting from $106,000 (Rs 72.5 lakh), The Economic Times reported.
With additional allowance of relocation costs and benefits of an employee stock option plan and joining bonus, the salaries for international companies is expected to be at Rs 1.2 crores, placement cell officials told The Economic Times.
Traditionally, international companies like Oracle, Microsoft, Google and Visa offer the highest salaries at IITs, but this year Google has decided to hire without the involvement of the institutes.
Unlike last year, start-up companies are missing this year, which led IITs to impose a blanket ban on them for a year.
The final placements at the IITs start on 1 December, popularly known as Day 1 and most of the international offers are made in the first half of the day.
