Indian, Chinese Troops Meet At LAC, Commit to Cordial Ties

Troops of India and China held ceremonial Border Personal Meetings at two places on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Troops of India and China held ceremonial Border Personal Meetings at two places on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The troops expressed commitment towards bettering relations and maintaining peace along the boundary. The ceremonial meetings were held to coincide with the 67th Republic Day of India, said Defence PRO Northern Command.

<p>At the Chushul - Moldo Meeting Point, the delegations were led by Brig R S Raman and (China’s) Senior Col Cheng Zheng Shan while at the DBO-TWD Meeting Point, the delegations were led by Col B S Uppal and (China’s) Lt Col Duanyug Kang.</p>

The proceedings commenced with ceremonial Flag Hoisting of both countries, which was followed by the military commanders of both sides delivering speeches. The speeches expressed warmth and a spirit of friendship and bonhomie. Thereafter, a cultural programme showcasing vibrant Indian culture and traditional grandeur was organised, he said.

<p>Both the delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment. There was a feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC)</p>

Both sides also resolved to uphold the treaties and agreements signed between the governments of both sides to maintain peace and tranquillity along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the PRO said.
