1. 40-Year-Old Man Stabbed 27 Times over Alleged Extramarital Affair in Delhi

A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death by three persons on Tuesday night in Dwarka, police said. The man was stabbed 27 times, and initial investigation has revealed that the murder was the result of an extramarital affair, said a senior police officer.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Shibesh Singh said the arrested persons have been identified as Aman Kumar alias Rajiv (20), Ashish (21) and Sahil (19).

2. Truck Driver Lynched in Mumbai for Harassing Woman, Says Police

Palghar police arrested three persons for allegedly lynching a truck driver on the Bhiwandi-Manor highway on Monday. The driver, identified as Harendra Singh (48), was targeted for allegedly passing comments at the wife of one of the accused in the lynching case.

Besides passing comments, the truck driver allegedly blocked the woman’s path and did not allow her two-wheeler to overtake the truck. The woman called up her husband, who, along with two of his friends, chased the truck driver and after forcing him to stop, allegedly beat him to death.

3. Six-Year-Old Raped in Faridabad, Residents Block Road in Protest

A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 45-year-old man in Saran area of Faridabad late on Tuesday night. The incident triggered agitation in the city with the people blocking the busy BK Chowk demanding strict action against the accused.

The crime took place around 9.15 pm on Tuesday when the six-year-old girl had gone to the local market in Dabua to purchase biscuits. It is alleged that Rajesh alias Raju, 45, caught her and took her to an abandoned house and raped her. Some women heard the girl’s cries and rushed to the spot.

4. Punjab Man’s Death near Tokyo: Not Suicide, Want to Know What Actually Happened, Says Family

Family members of Deepak Kumar, 32, who died under mysterious circumstances at an immigration detention centre at Ibaraki near Tokyo in Japan on 13 April, are still waiting for details.

Deepak’s family, who is based in Ludhiana, claim that Deepak could not have committed suicide as he was “absolutely fine” when they spoke over phone on 12 April and had never told them about any problem or incident that might have triggered the extreme step.

The death has also sparked a protest and hunger strike by some of the detainees there. Sanjiv Kumar, his brother, said Deepak had gone to China on a tourist visa in April last year.

5. Uber Driver With License Held for Masturbating While Ferrying Woman Passenger in Delhi

An Uber driver was arrested for allegedly masturbating while ferrying a woman passenger in his cab, police said on Wednesday. The incident occurred on the night of 15 April in Lutyens Delhi. The accused, identified as Shokeen Khan, was arrested and was found to be having a fake driving licence, they said.

The woman had booked the cab from the airport. She saw the driver masturbating at the wheel. When the cab reached near Janpath, she asked the driver to stop near a police vehicle. The driver fled the spot but was later nabbed, police sai

6. Cop Molests Woman Constable on Court Premises near Mumbai, Booked

The Thane Nagar police booked a constable from Navi Mumbai for molesting a woman constable after they had an argument over giving water to one of the accused at the Thane court premises, on Tuesday.

Kiran Kamble, 41, belongs to the Navi Mumbai police headquarters. On Tuesday, a police van from Navi Mumbai came to the Thane court along with the accused for hearing. After the hearing ended, the accused were told to sit inside the police van.

“One of the accused whose responsibility was given to Kamble asked for water from the woman constable. She then asked Kamble to unlock the handcuffs as the accused wanted to drink water,” said a police officer from Thane Nagar police station.

7. Man Stabbed to Death over Bike Parking in Badarpur

A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death by a group of people following a dispute with his neighbour over parking his bike in Badarpur. One person has been arrested, while some others, including a woman, have been detained, police said, adding that a probe is underway.

Police said Ashok alias Sanjay received multiple injuries and was declared brought dead at the hospital.

8. Over 200 Kg of Cannabis Seized, Four Arrested in Thane

Thane Police busted a gang of suspected drug suppliers by arresting four persons between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, and recovered more than 200 kg of cannabis from them. The main supplier has escaped, sources said. Khadakpada police said they had information about a small-time peddler.

“We caught one of the accused, identified as Naresh Ahire, from Badlapur ST bus stand on Tuesday night. We seized around 2 kg cannabis from him,” said an officer.
