Leaders of nine ASEAN countries reached New Delhi on Wednesday, 24 January, for the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit, which will be held on 25 and 26 January. The Indonesian President will reach the country on Thursday.

An MOU was signed between the India's IB Ministry and the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam aimed at enhancing cooperation between the parties in the field of information and broadcasting based on principles of equality and reciprocity pursuant to their national laws and regulations.
The MOU between the ministries of the two countries also talks about implementation arrangement between ISRO, Government of India and the National Remote Sensing Department of Vietnam for establishing tracking and data reception station and data processing facility in Vietnam under ASEAN-India Space Cooperation.
It is said that the MOU would define the framework and conditions of cooperation for establishment of the facility to provide Indian remote sensing satellite data over the ASEAN region to enable remote sensing applications, including natural resources management, ocean development and disaster management by ASEAN member states.
Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar said “Trade and investment, defence and security, education and people-to-people cooperation” were discussed in the meeting between PM Narendra Modi and Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte.

The Commemorative Summit to mark 25 years of the India-ASEAN Dialogue Partnership will be held on the theme, “Shared Values, Common Destiny”.
Heads of state or government of all 10 southeast Asian nations will be in attendance at the summit on Thursday, 25 January, in New Delhi.
The summit will mark the conclusion of a series of events held over the last one year to mark the silver anniversary of the Dialogue Partnership.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
On Thursday, President Ram Nath Kovind will host a lunch at Rashtrapati Bhavan after which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a leaders' retreat, where the issue of maritime cooperation and security will figure.
Modi and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will deliver the opening remarks at the plenary session in the evening, in which all the other leaders of the bloc will share the dais. Singapore has assumed the chair of ASEAN this month onwards.
Modi will also release a set of commemorative stamps in the presence of the leaders to mark the occasion.
An exhibition of 20 paintings of an ASEAN-India Artists Camp will be held at the venue of the plenary session.
Following this, Modi will host a gala dinner along with a cultural programme in honour of the visiting dignitaries.
